Natural Cure For Gerd

Gerd would not exist without a damaged esophagus.  In order to have a natural cure for gerd, one must stop eating foods that can damage your esophagus and the LES (lower esophageal sphincter). Any food with sharp edges can cause little lacerations, as they go down.  To cure gerd, one should eat soft foods during the gerd treatment period.  Foods like mashed potatoes, soups and scrambled eggs, etc.  The goal is to start allowing the body to heal itself.  One must break the gerd cycle and allow the healing process to begin.  Only then can one begin a natural cure for gerd.

Refrain from eating spicy foods, acidic foods or anything that you know causes indigestion.  Abstain from drinking alcoholic beverages, sodas, carbonated water and acidic drinks, such as tomato and orange juices.  If you smoke and, or drink coffee, try to cut down on these when attempting a natural cure for gerd.

If you stick to this program for a few days, you will begin to feel better and the gerd will start to disappear.  Everyone has a different situation and a different time period for healing.  Some have more damage than others and it will take longer for the natural cure for gerd treatments to succeed.  But when you feel that the time is right, you may begin to eat and drink whatever you want.  Go slowly at first.  Remember to eat sensibly and always be conscious of the fact that chewing your food properly is an essential aspect of the natural cure for gerd.
